This 2 day course is designed to be an introduction to the “open water” paddling experience.
We will provide you with all the necessary tools for a safe and rewarding open water paddling experience .
From launching and landing in surf to doing rescues and towing in the “bump”, your confidence will be
greatly enhanced after these 2 days.  And , oh yes, don’t forget having a go at
some “long boat “surfing, talk aboutlearning boat control !!! See you out there.  RWK

Saturday:
am: Review of basic strokes introduce advanced strokes.  Paddling in wind and waves, managing the bump.  Front beach launching and landing.
pm: Review of basic rescues, group management in the ocean and introduce advanced rescues including a “rolling” module. Managing larger ocean conditions along with introducing proper “towing techniques”. We will also “video” portions of the day to be viewed in the evening.

Evening: Navigation class will include chart work to include how to take a bearing on the chart and in real world ,and then how to plot a course.  Figuring out time, distance and bearings during the actual course plotting challenge done by you !!! Finally we will view the “video” of some of the days paddling activities.

Sunday: Final day will begin with a review of the necessary “open water skills” already presented.  Then we will proceed on a “journey” of which you will be the leaders.  You will be challenged to use those new skills in a series of “sims” that will be challenging and fun.  Plus we will explore this beautiful coastline.
